Blocked Drains
At Plumber Victor Harbor, clearing blocked drains are a specialty and often CCTV can be used to detect the position and type of drain blockage.
An electric signal is emitted from the tip of the CCTV camera which can give the exact location of the blockage.
If the blockage is outside, the pipe may have to be dug up.
If inside then similar action may have to be taken. However, there are other tools that can be used before that kind of drastic action is taken.
This includes the use of a Hydro-Jet which blasts high-pressure water down the drain at the point of blockage and can clear most things.
This is the best option so as not to damage your pipes.
Sometimes tour blockage can be due to tree roots growing within your drain and entangling into an immovable clump. In this case, sometimes it is necessary to use an electric drain cleaner, otherwise known as a plumbers snake.
This machine spins while down the drain with a Medusa-like head of cutting blades which will cut through the roots in no time and clear your drain.
This is probably a temporary fix and your drain may have to be dug up and repaired so the tree roots do not re-grow through the cracks.
